We're gonna make a dashed border around an image. Very simple. We're gonna go from this to this.* I am using Adobe CS3 Extended btw ;]
1. Open a new window, 8 x 8 pixels. No bigger. (Please zoom in your window to 1100%, so you can see what you are working with.) 2. Use the pencil tool, (right click the brush tool and click "pencil". set to 1 pixel for the pencil.) 3. Draw a pattern like this.4. Edit > Define Pattern > OK You have now made your pattern. Below I will show you how to put it on an existing image or a new window. 1. Create a new image, or use an existing one. 2. Press "CTRL+SHIFT+N" to create a new layer. 3. With the new layer selected press "CTRL+A" or just go to Select > All. 4. Edit > Stroke and pick the color of your choice. 5. Right click on the new layer, and select "Blending Options" 6. Make sure you check the box "Pattern Overlay" and apply these settings. This is what you get! I did not make this tutorial. To read the original tutorial go here.Thank you :]

great tutorial, i'm sure it will help people. but I don't have adobe photoshop cs2 or cs3. I have GIMP. I don't think it would work on it would it? pretty sure it won't.. :/ If you have all the same options like "ctrl+a" etc , it will work, if you don't have all the options it won't work. As I said above, If you have all the same options like "ctrl+a" etc , it will work, if you don't have all the options it won't work. That's so pretty! I love the outcome ;D
